Automatons

Many people have theorized just where the Automatons have come from, Archaeologists have tried to unravel texts and scriptures. Scholars have worked tirelessly to make any sense of it. But here is what is known about the Automatons, as well as what can be assumed from such knowledge. First, all Automatons have a permanent, unlimited access to Flow; and indeed, they use it as the primary source for their attacks. It also gives them an unlimited amount of energy to work with.

Due to this, it is believed that the Automatons were used primarily for the roles of Guardians or Enforcers. Oddly enough, this doesn't explain why they have free will, or why they have no recollection of any such role or... Even any past life at all. All they can recall are the events exactly as soon as they awakened to an entire new world. It has become a theory that perhaps some benefactor released them from so-called shackles and deactivated them before a cataclysmic event wiped out their civilization.

All that is known, is that they are surprisingly lifelike, from their bodies to their personalities. They are one of the most advanced surviving pieces of technology from the Ancient Civilization; there is simply no other feasible explanation for their existence.


Binding Chains - Automatons were intended to be peacekeepers, not exactly soldiers. Though they can still serve out the purpose of such, they can take targets alive. During battle they can access the Flow in order to create ethereal chains which then wrap around their target and prevent them from moving and taking action. However generating this does cause their generator to overheat and enter a cooldown state. They will be unable to conjure more chains or use their barrier until three rounds have passed.

Barrier of the Flow - When under immense pressure, the Automatons are able to use the Flow to form a spherical barrier around themselves and their allies in a somewhat small radius, enough to fit a squad inside. This barrier will absorb all damage from sources outside of the barrier, and the Automaton as well as their allies will be able to attack from inside of it.
[Barrier is equal to the Automaton's Soul Stat, and lasts until it is either destroyed from incoming damage, or five rounds have passed; the Automaton is unable to use their Chains until the Barrier would have dissipated normally]

Overcharge - Automatons have a connection to the Flow, but when they become more powerful they can bring their generators into an overcharge, enhancing their capabilities by thrice their standard. [Unlocks at 30k Soul] [x3]

Flow Pulse - When an Automaton reaches a considerable level of power, they can further tap into the Flow, this can cause various effects to their bodies, and typically the mysterious energy will pulse through their body in a noticeable manner. [Unlocks at 120k Soul] [x11/x14]

Flow Ascension - Truly exceptional Automatons can perform what is called a Flow Ascension, instead of the Flow pulsing through their bodies like a heartbeat, it becomes a steady glow. [Unlocks at 175k Soul] [x25]

Perfected Flow Ascension - Automatons on this level have perfected the art of Flow Ascension, and on top of their glowing form, particles of the Flow will begin to fill the air around them. [Unlocks at 220k Soul] [x28/x30]

One With The Flow - Something thought to be purely mythical. But in legends it is stated that an Automaton that has achieved this final form will gain wings formed entirely out of the Flow, and they will also attain a godlike power... [Unlocks at 310k Soul] [x40]
